Yanmar keeps everything in-house in their manufacturing process - a rarity these days. I appreciate knowing the machine and engine come from the same designer. Maintenance on the Vio80 feels straightforward - filter checks and hydraulic system inspections are accessible. It’s practical to check essential systems during fueling sessions. This streamlined approach simplifies handling for operators and technically aware supervisors. However, adding a secondary lock mechanism for added attachment safety could be a suggestion, but it looks like the current implementation works adequately for most use cases.

I had the opportunity to operate the 2014 Yanmar Vio80 for a couple of projects. The controls felt smooth and provided good precision, which made intricate tasks more manageable. The cab was comfortable, though a minor adjustment could improve its ventilation system. Maintenance was straightforward; greasing the components and inspecting the tracks were easy tasks.

Using the Yanmar Vio 80 has been a solid experience. The power it delivers feels adequate for most tasks I throw at it. Maintenance access isn't too complicated, though on colder days, starting can take a bit longer than I'd prefer. Anyway, it's functional and dependable for the most part.

I’ve operated quite a few excavators, and the Vio 80 stands out in some ways. Its design aids maneuverability in tight spaces, which is a huge plus. On the flip side, I thought the comfort could be improved a bit for extended use, as I experienced some fatigue. Great overall for construction jobs requiring precise operations.
